Editing Services
My freelance editing services include structural, developmental, and line edits in fiction and nonfiction genres. I am especially adept at helping writers connect the personal with the political, and have supported queer and trans BIPOC writers with personal essay development, artists’ statements, and more. I have worked extensively with nonfiction and academic authors to write on pressing issues such as racial justice, abolition, imperialism, labor, peoples’ movements, and reproductive justice for a public-facing audience. Previous clients have secured writers’ grants and fellowships and published in both independent publications and academic presses.
If you’re interested in discussing editing needs for your current project, I am happy to schedule a free, preliminary conversation. Contact me to talk!
Testimonials
“T.K.’s editorial guidance was irreproachable. She brought to my work an effective combination of fluency in relevant intellectual frameworks along with a crisp and concise editorial approach. She helped me work through vexing narrative and analytical dilemmas through actionable suggestions that pointed me in unexpected directions, while allowing me to preserve my voice. Moreover, having to address peer feedback from disparate and often competing or contradictory reviewers, I relied upon T.K. to help me remain focused on the essential tasks and developing critical, yet engaging writing. I thank T.K. for being a helpful interlocutor who commiserated with me along the way! ”
